The ultimate PS2 collector’s package

I used to be a video game reviewer so received first editions and press packs for numerous games from 2002 – 2007.

I’m selling the last of my collection – 125 games, many of which have never been played. (See my Trade Me listing for the PS2 bundle – search username petergnz11)

This would suit a PS2 enthusiast/collector as games such as Gran Turismo 4, The Getaway, Ghost Hunter and War of the Monsters come with fantastic launch editions that are now collectors item.

The package also includes a PS2 console in good condition, Singstar microphone package (never used), Eye Toy, Kinetic camera (never used), PS2 DVD pack & remote, a cool PS2 bag and various other collectables, press packs, memorabilia etc.

I want to sell it as a package to avoid the hassle of mailing stuff to numerous people so offering a good price for the lot! Many of the games are in simple jewel cases which is how they often come as review titles – but the discs are in great condition.

The PS2 games – a mid-2000s collection

Note – not all of the games come in the standard blue plastic case – some are in simple jewel cases which is how they were sent out to reviewers. Most don’t have booklets either (these were often sent out before the booklets were finalised). But probably 60 – 70 per cent of these discs haven’t been played as multiple copies were often sent out.

The hardware

I’m including a slim-line PS2 console, which has seen plenty of use but is still in good condition. There’s a pair of Singstar microphones (never used + 10 or so Singstar titles which have never been played).

Also an Eye Toy (compatible with several of the titles listed above) and a Kinetic Combat camera and game pack. You can use the DVD kit and remote to turn the PS2 console into a DVD player.

Collector’s items

This is the really cool stuff – the first edition press packs games makers send reviewers to promote their new games. Some of the artwork and creativity is stunning. My favourite is the creepy doll that came with Ghost Hunter. That freaked me out when I first opened it!

The very strange, but very cool press pack for Ghost Hunter – still creeps me out now + press pack and the game itself.
